A Chinese delegation led by CNCERT/CC visited CERT-Hungary on 16-17 August. The aim of the visit was to build closer relationship between the government network security centers of the two countries.

During the discussions, the parties examined the possibilities of information sharing, the fields of cooperation in critical information infrastructure protection, and representation of common interest in the international CERT communities.

The Hungarian governmental information security center, that is operated by the Theodore Puskas Foundation (CERT-Hungary) has successfully fulfilled the requirements of the European CERT community (Trusted Introducer) and on February 14th, 2006, CERT-Hungary received accredited status from Trusted Introducer.

The delegation constituted of members from the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Egyptian Telecom Regulatory Board, and were the guest of their Hungarian counterpart.
After getting a short overview of the activities of the Foundation by general manager Dr. Zsolt Kőhalmi, Dr. Ferenc Suba gave a presentation about the international networking relations of the Hungarian government CERT, and a summary of the activities of CERT-Hungary by project manager Balazs Szekeres.

The TF-CSIRT Task Force was established to promote the collaboration between Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) in Europe.

We are glad to announce that on 16 Jan. 2006, CERT-Hungary has moved two blocks to a new location at Munkácsy Mihály utca 22.
Moving to a new, more spacious location we had room to create a test environment.

Slovakia and Hungary have already began cooperation on network and information security issues. Tuesdays meeting will be a follow up to the October 10th meeting in Slovakia, where the two sides have already laid down the basics of cooperation.

During the testing phase, incidents are only handled during regular business hours, that is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday. Until CERT-Hungary becomes fully operational, our team is continually working on enhancing our services.
